Gail Chalker makes the first cut
Cutting up of The World's Biggest Hexagon Quilt
Twenty Ladies and a Gentleman joined the owners of Sew Creative Gatton today to Cut up the quilt. Gail Chalker, the seed behind the idea, made the first cut at approximately 10.00am. Three hours and 115 quilts later the 108.8m long quilt was now in more usable Lap to Queen size portions.
The process of cutting the binding and sewing it to the smaller quilts now began.
Thank you to everyone who joined us on the day and who then volunteered to take some of the smaller quilts home to complete the binding.
